She made it known that she was on a mission to penetrate the local entertainment industry, specifically in South Trinidad, in such a way that it would resonate that she was serious. Denise Belfon announced two weeks ago that she would be employing her fellow musicians in T&T- year round and so far, so good. We spoke with Belfon this morning and already, the feedback on the Saturday night fixture at the Edge Nightclub in La Romaine, dubbed Steaming Southland Saturdays, seems to have proven to be a successful move.
Belfon’s wanted to do this for some time, she says, explaining that it’s always been her dream to own her own lounge, which she very well, may someday attest to doing. For now however, her Saturday night event at the Edge is off to a pretty good start having already featured acts like Iwer George, Farmer Nappy, Blaxx and last week, Mr. Renzo and Squeezy Rankin. On the heels of that, Belfon’s set to release a brand new single later this week. It’s being released just in time for a boat ride she has planned with, believe it or not, the same name as the new single- Buff! Get ready for that!
